Server Data Recovery Process:
All Dell Raid systems are approached in a case specific manner, depending on the configuration of the server and the specific Raid Server that we are working.  Below is an outline of our standard procedures.
In the first instance we image all disks.  This makes sure that the integrity of your original disk is kept intact.
Our engineers then work with the disk image to process the system by extracting the data.
We are steps ahead of our game, as our standard procedure is to image all hard disks before and after de-stripping-recompiling to ensure the highest possible chance of recovering your data.  Not all data recovery companies will offer such a service.

Server Raid Configuration:
Servers offer a variety of data storage configuration options, which provide the owner of the server with different data protection levels and varying recovery chances if the Server fails.
RAID 0: Data is distributed across the drives. This is the best-performing configuration with maximum data capacity. A single drive failure causes loss of all the data. This method is gradually getting replaced with other raid configurations but is still being used in basic server systems.
RAID 1: In this configuration two shared disks are mirrored. This configuration provides great speed but only half of the potential storage capacity. This configuration is rarely used on servers and more on NAS Devices but we still see some server systems with this configuration.
JBOD: This ensures full storage capacity and good performance. Single drive failure may cause all data loss. We rarely see this with servers.
RAID 5: The most popular and the default for the modern Raid servers, Data is distributed across the drives using backward parity rotation. This configuration is fast but space equal to one disk's capacity is lost. The server system will continue to operate normally even after single drive failure. 90% of servers we receive in are setup as Raid 5.

All customers are advised to send their hard disks to us via Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery.  You will receive up to £500 in insurance and they provide a quick overnight service, ensuring the fastest possible turnaround.

Covering letter:
Please include a covering letter that includes the following information

  • Your Full Contact Details (Full Name, Full Postal Address, Phone Number, Email Address). 
  • Decide which service suits you best, from our 3 services above, Standard, Express / Critical.

Step 3 – Free Diagnostic Service
*At this point, you are under no obligation to pay anything, until you approve, then we will proceed*
We will inspect your disk and carry out a full diagnostic to evaluate how much data we can recover from your Hard Disk.  We advise our customers that they should hear from us within a day or two.  The Standard Recovery process is complete within 2-4 days.  However, you can order our critical service, if you require your data in a hurry.

Step 4 – Recovery Process Begins
You will receive an email that will outline the outcome of your diagnostic evaluation and, at this point we will request payment, if you give approval.
When the funds arrive, our professional engineers will back up your lost data onto a new external drive.
